these large water jugs were the original martavans used more than 1000 years ago. they developed over the centuries into the ornately decorated Chinese pots of the Ming and other dynasties as seen in this collection in large pots

These are four similar plates with the Dutch East India stamp voc and the floral borders which are now used in the coat of arms of the local government of Nusa Tenggara Timor province. possibly commissioned as a gift for the Dutch governor at the time
